So if you’ve had trouble recording Google Voice calls on your account or just want to know how to do it, here are the steps:
Enable Call Recording
- Sign into your Google Voice account and go to Settings; click on the gear icon on the upper right corner of the page and select Settings.
- Click on the “Calls” tab and make sure that “Enable Recording […]” is selected – next to Call Options. If the box is not checked, click on it to select it; your settings will automatically save.
Recording a Call
Unfortunately, you can only record incoming calls, so this feature will not work on outgoing calls.
When you receive an incoming call that you want to record, press the #4 on the keypad – whether on your home phone or computer.
An automated recording will announce that the call recording feature is on; all parties will be able to hear this message.
When you want to stop recording you can press the #4 again or just wait until the call is over and hang up.
The audio for your recorded call will appear in your Inbox – much like a voicemail message. Just click on the play button to hear the message. There you have it. As long as you remember all of these steps, you’re all set.
